Sir Richard Starkey, known as Ringo Starr, is an English musician, singer, songwriter, actor, and rock ‘n’ roll pioneer. He became famous as the drummer for the Beatles, where his unconventional style and signature “windshield wiper” hi-hat playing were defining features of the band’s sound. Starr also sang lead vocals on some of their classics, including “Yellow Submarine” and “With a Little Help from My Friends”.
